As many of you know, our own Martha Durkee-Neuman (daughter of Peggy and Albert) has graduated from Harvard Divinity School and will be ordained as a Unitarian Universalist minister in Massachusetts on March 29. Since Martha is a member of our congregation, we want to honor her with a special gift on this occasion. Pam Zachary-Morneault has begun working on a ministerial stole that we can present on the day of her ordination. Anyone interested in adding stitches, baubles, and beads to the stole, please contact Pam at 541-490-3329 or pzmorneault AT gmail.com. Pam looks forward to sharing this celebration of love and pride with 1-3 people at a time, along with tea and spring decor in her home. It must be finished by first week of March.
Martha’s ordination on March 29th is in Malden, MA but you can join virtually via Zoom. RSVP to the ordination service and you’ll receive a link in your email. The ordination is at 10 am PST (1 pm EST).
Here is the RSVP link for Martha’s ordination service.
A Message from Martha Durkee-Neuman
“I am so excited to invite you to join me in celebrating my ordination to the Unitarian Universalist Ministry including preaching by the Reverend Otto Concannon and music from the Sanctuary Boston Band! The ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 29th, at1:00pm with reception to follow, at the First Parish in Malden (2 Elm St, Malden, MA 02148) and online on Zoom. Please RSVP using this page. A Zoom link will be sent to your email following your RSVP before the event!
For my far away friends, Zoom is just as good as in person attendance, I will feel supported and loved regardless!
The boards of the First Parish in Malden and the First Church in Belmont have voted to co-ordain me to the Unitarian Universalist ministry. I have asked these two congregations because First Parish is a place where I first became a minister in my role as a religious educator and grew my theology of ministry. And First Church is the place that is welcoming me to bring that ministry forward. These two churches are incredible places that I feel very fortunate to have learned within and have the opportunity to lead among.
Thank you all so much for your support and love. I would not be where I am on this journey without each one of you.”
