Hood River Shelter Services and Regional Efforts to Address Houselessness

It is in-person and via Zoom (hybrid) with Sarah Kellems speaker and Dan Ball celebrant. This winter, the Hood River Warming Shelter is open 24 hours a day from mid-November through mid-March, with housing case management and supportive services provided on site. Shelter services in Hood River are now provided collaboratively by Hood River Shelter Services and Mid-Columbia Community Action Council. And the Mid-Columbia Houseless Collaborative, convened in 2022, is a regional coordinated effort working to reduce houselessness by expanding housing capacity and ensuring supportive services are provided in culturally affirming ways that uphold human dignity. Sarah Kellems will provide updates on this work in our community and share opportunities for engagement. Sarah previously served as Executive Director of Hood River Shelter Services (HRSS) and now works as Development and Engagement Coordinator at Mid-Columbia Community Action Council (MCCAC).
