Mindfulness according to the early teachings of the Buddh

“Mindfulness according to the early teachings of the Buddha” with Bhante Patthago.  Please join Bhante Patthago, a monk in the Theravada Thai Forest tradition, for a talk on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness according to the early teaching of the Buddha.  With mindfulness being such a buzz word with many kinds of “mindfulness” approaches, we’ll hear the essential aspects of the traditional practice as taught by The Buddha so that we can experience cessation of suffering for ourselves.  The Four Foundations of Mindfulness, Satipatthana, help one develop ways of dealing with thoughts and distractions, how to steady and still our mind’s attention, and ways to cultivate the mental factors and qualities needed for a sustained happiness and awakening  At this service, we’ll gather ourselves with a short, guided meditation and, introduction to satipatthana and then hear a talk from Bhante Patthago on the four pillars that make up this practice with time for questions at the end.  In person and online.
