Join the “Somos Inmigrantes” Campaign

About the Campaign
This is a very uncertain time for immigrants in the United States. Those of us who have been
here for generations want to show solidarity for more recent immigrants who are hard-working
and law abiding. The We are Immigrants-Somos Inmigrantes campaign proclaims our
commitment to defend the dignity, safety and wellbeing of all our neighbors.

Our Inspiration
Over 30 years ago in Billings, Montana, a Jewish family displayed a menorah in their window. A
brick was thrown through that window. Within a short time, thousands of homes, churches and
businesses displayed menorahs in their windows in an act of solidarity.

Our Goal
Our goal is to help our neighbors feel and be safer. We will give out thousands of signs
throughout the Gorge by the summer of 2025.

Volunteer Opportunity Now through Sept 20th
Interested in supporting the We are Immigrants / Somos Inmigrante campaign? To raise
awareness, we will have a “pop up” display near the Hood River Farmer’s Market and at “First
Friday” events on Oak Street. The call to action is to volunteer at our display, dialogue with the
community, and sell yard signs and window signs. Do you have a sign up? If not, join us as we
proudly post signs in our homes and businesses where others can see them.
