This special presentation will be by Bill Weiler, a 40-year Columbia Gorge resident, and retired Wildlife Biologist with both the Washington and Oregon Departments of Fish & Wildlife. Bill established the Columbia Gorge Outdoors (GEO) 30 years ago. Twenty-eight thousand area students have participated in GEO’s environmental education programs. Bill grew up attending Unitarian Services in Santa Monica, California.
Bill’s talk will focus on our magical, local wildlife species, the many ecological services that they provide, and he will share some stories about animals saving human lives. Because of the invaluable benefits and wonders of wildlife, we will hear how we can help to solve human/wildlife conflicts, and our spiritual connections with wildlife.
Special activities for youth will be creating butterfly food and wildflower seed balls and posters for Earth Day.
