Hood River’s hometown hero Minoru Yasui offered courageous leadership by advocating for immigrants and refugees during WWII Japanese internment and beyond. In this unsettled time when violence is increasing against Asians as well as all people of color let us show up and move in solidarity.

Saturday, March 27,  1-3:00 call to action presented by Min Yasui Legacy Project.  Senator Mazie Hirono is guest speaker, Chisao Hato (from the Hood River Tamiyasu families) poet. Viewing of Kyler Wang and Alan’s Zhou’s 10 minute documentary, winner of the National History Day Student Contest. Event is free but you must pre-register here .

Sunday March 28 at 1:00 pm Placement of Hood River’s student activist honorees’ legacy stones ( 2017-2018-2019-2020) in the Minoru Yasui Legacy Garden on the north library lawn. We are also installing a QR Code so folks can scan and watch the 3 minute Presidential Medal of Freedom presented by President Barak Obama to the Minoru Yasui family.
