This service was so well received when we offered it last summer that we are bringing it back by popular demand! In her 2021 book Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us into the Sacred, Victoria Loorz “explores the wild roots of faith and helps us deepen our commitment to a suffering earth by falling in love with it.” For this service, we will gather outside at the forested home of Debbie and Lloyd Olson to immerse ourselves in the wonders of the natural world. Following the practice of the “church of the wild,” we will spend some time in silent, solitary contemplation of nature and some time in communal sharing. Come and experience this new and different way of “doing church.” This service will be at 10:00 AM in person only. Please bring a folding chair if you have one. Debbie and Lloyd live at 35 Jewett Creek Loop Road in White Salmon. Park on the street and then walk down the driveway to the house.
For those unable to attend this service, we have been invited to join our friends at Eastrose UU Fellowship to hear their new minister, Rev. Robin Landerman Zucker, speaking on “So It Goes: Kurt Vonnegut’s Humanism.” Please note that this service begins at 10:30 AM.
