The Gorge Native American Collaborative (GNAC) is sponsoring a Halloween Event in White Salmon from 5-7 pm. The event is outdoors in the NorthShore Medical Group’s parking lot, located at 65371 Highway 14, Bingen, WA. Native children living in very rural areas may not have a chance to trick or treat. Participating agencies bring Halloween treats and stuff (like pencils and toothbrushes,) dress in Halloween costumes, open their decorated auto trunks, and hand out stuff to Native children. The MCUUF Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee is working to partner with groups like GNAC to support marginalized groups in our community and to remind the wider community that MCUUF is a welcoming Fellowship with strong ties to all community members. Please let me, Pat Evenson-Brady, know if you are willing to show up at the White Salmon site at about 4:30 pm, decorate a trunk, and hand out goodies. We already have candy and small toys, and will bag them at my house on 10/23 at 7 pm. Email: [email protected]. Ph: 541-490-9064.
