Braver Angels is a national nonprofit civic organization dedicated to bridging the partisan divide in America through political depolarization. Founded in 2016 following the divisive presidential election, the movement aims to foster “patriotic empathy” by bringing together conservatives (“Reds”) and liberals (“Blues”) on equal terms. Rather than trying to change participants’ minds or force a centrist consensus, the group uses structured workshops, debates, and local alliances to help citizens see the humanity in those with whom they disagree and find common ground on critical issues. By equipping Americans with tools for respectful conversation and intellectual humility, Braver Angels seeks to replace toxic rancor with a collaborative “working alliance” that strengthens democratic institutions from the grassroots up. Keith Harding will present the value of this loving approach to working with our neighbors, with celebrant Dan Ball and music by Jasper Krehbiel.
