Join us on Sunday, May 21 at 10 a.m. for an in-person service of song and chant led by Richard (Dick) Withers with Celebrant Bonnie Withers. Experience the rich sound of songs and chants from the Plum Village tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hahn. Songs and chants provide a pathway to the peace that lies deep within each of us; these songs and chants also offer us a vehicle to gain understanding, wisdom and awareness.
With “Chanting From the Heart”, the congregation will imagine and experience a day of Buddhist retreat – over the course of a single hour – beginning with a Morning Chant and Blessing for the Day and ending with an Evening Chant and Meditation. We will pay particular attention to the Heart Sutra as translated by Thich Nhat Hahn with music and chant composed by the Monks and Nuns of the Plum Village Monastery (France).
