June 25 – Debra Pennington Davis, “Restorative Justice” – Our second Unitarian Universalist principle commits us to affirm and promote justice, equity, and compassion in human relationships. Restorative justice—a survivor-centered alternative to the traditional justice system—addresses all three of these principles. Our speaker, Debra Pennington Davis, coordinates the new Restorative Justice Grant Program at Six Rivers Dispute Resolution Center. This program, which is funded through the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission, has been shown by research to be effective and to improve the lives of those affected by harm. Come and learn more about this exciting new program in our community.
