Share-the-Plate Nominations Now Open

Each month, MCUUF shares one-half of the month’s offerings from worship services with a local agency that is working to meet MCUUF values. In 2024-25, we shared over $5,000 with 12 programs across our service area (Klickitat, Skamania, Wasco and Hood River counties), with an average monthly donation of $430.

We are encouraging the MCUUF congregation to nominate non-profit agencies or programs for the 2026-27 Share the Plate. The nomination form is on-line at mcuuf2.org and asks the nominator to describe the program for consideration by the MCUUF Social Action Committee and Social Justice Council. The deadline to nominate a program is March 31, 2026. The 2025-26 Share the Plate recipients are automatically considered again and do not have to be re-nominated.

The 2025-26 Share the Plate recipients are: Black in the Gorge, Comunidades, FISH Food Bank, Gorge Native American Collaborative, Gorge Pride Alliance, Helping Hands Against Violence, Hood River Latino Network, Hood River Shelter Services/MCCAC, Immigration Counseling Services/Immigrant Help Center, Radio Tierra, Sunshine Club, Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP), Youth Empowerment Shelter (The Dalles).

The priorities for Share the Plate are:
1) Organizations that meet basic needs: food, shelter, health
2) Marginalized groups: e.g. (including but not limited to) LGBT+, Black, Hispanic, Native, people leaving violent homes
3) Other: e.g. (not limited to) climate action, other community needs
4) Selecting recipients in a way that serves all parts of MCUUF’s territory (Klickitat, Skamania, Wasco and Hood River counties) and a variety of needs.
